Hazard Perception Test
The Hazard Perception Test (HPT) is one of the requirements needed to graduate from your Learner's Permit to your P1 Provisional Licence.
The HPT can be taking any time once you have a Learner's Permit however the best time to take the HPT would be when near completing or you have just passed CBT&A or VORT.
The Hazard Perception Test (HPT) is a computer-based test that measures your ability to recognise and respond to potentially dangerous situations and react appropriately. A lack of these skills is a major factor in crashes involving young novice drivers.

You can take the hazard perception test at a Service SA Customer Service Centre, but you must make an appointment first.
Telephone 13 10 84 to make an appointment. You will need to pay for your test booking at this time with a credit card (Visa or MasterCard only). Please quote your Learner's Permit number to the customer service officer.
If you visit a Service SA Customer Service Centre to book your test, you can pay with cash, debit or credit card.
A fee is charged each time you attempt the test.
If you fail, you can re-sit the test immediately provided a vacancy is available. A fee will be charged each time you attempt the test. You may need to get more on-road practise before attempting the test again. Don't be in a hurry, make sure you are ready before trying again.
